Court Reinstates Google Age Discrimination Suit
Court reinstates age-discrimination lawsuit against Google from ComputerWorld reports that an age discrimination case against Google that was dismissed two years ago will now go back to court.
Brian Reid, an ex-AltaVista employee who went over to work at Google, was fired at age 54 and filed suit over the action in July 2004. The suit was dismissed on October 2005 by a judge in Santa Clara County. Last Thursday, the Sixth District Court of Appeals in San Jose decided to overturn that decision and allow the case to proceed and be heard.
Google claims Reid was fired due to poor performance, but Reid says it is because he didn’t fit into the company culture.
